Studio

For any creative person it’s essential to have somewhere that you can call your own so that you can work quietly and sometimes messily without being interrupted by anyone else in the home.

This is my stand alone studio in the garden, and I had it built to my own special design and requirements. First and foremost it has doubly insulated walls, floor, ceiling and windows with good heating and lighting….. so that I can work in it all year round! Secondly it’s designed to come apart easily so that if I ever move from where I’m living now I can take it with me and have it put together again somewhere else.

It's situated at the end of the garden and since my garden overlooks fields and forest I can paint away and in the summer I can open the doors and look out on a wonderful peaceful scene…it’s like the landscape coming into the studio.

It's very peaceful and quiet and just what I wanted also the wildlife is fantastic….when you are painting you are often very still and quiet so that you don’t disturb anything. Everything comes into the garden undisturbed…I once had a family of partridges come in the studio and peck around my feet not realizing I was there. I absolutely love it.
